Who To Contact When The Surgery Is Closed

If you have an urgent medical problem when the surgery is closed in the evening, at weekends or during Bank and Public Holidays:-

Call the NHS 111 service by dialling 111.
All calls are free from landlines and mobile phones.

When else should you use 111?

  • When its not a life threatening situation and, therefore, is less urgent than a 999 call
  • When you cannot see your own GP, for instance when the surgery is closed or you are away from home
  • When you feel you cannot wait or are simply unsure of which service you require
  • When you require reassurance about what to do next

In the event of a medical EMERGENCY dial 999

In the event of a serious problem such as severe bleeding, if you suspect you are having a heart attack (acute chest pain) or stroke (weakness of your face or arms, or a sudden difficulty in speaking) please call 999 immediately.
