You can use the internet to book appointments with a GP and request repeat prescriptions for any medications you take regularly. You can still use the telephone or call in to the surgery for these services (note: we are unable to take requests for repeat prescriptions over the phone) if you prefer. You can also use our online services to view a summary of your medical record (allergies and sensitivities, acute medication, current repeat medication and past repeat medication discontinued in the last 6 months).
Being able to see your summary record and medication online might help you to manage your medical condition. It also means that you can access this information from anywhere in the world should you require medical treatment on holiday. If you decide not to join or wish to withdraw at a later stage, this is your choice - just let the reception staff know.
In order to access the online services, you will be asked to complete an application form. The surgery will need to verify your identity - you may be asked to provide photo ID (e.g. passport or photo driving licence) plus one other document that confirms your address. You will then be given login details, so you will need to think of a password which is unique to you. This will ensure that only you are able to access your record - unless you choose to share the details with a family member or carer.
If you would like to open an online account please ask at reception for an application form.
