All patients are entitled to be accompanied during consultations by an appropriate family member or friend. For some consultations or examinations you may prefer a formal chaperone to be present i.e. a trained member of staff. Wherever possible we would ask you to make this request at the time of booking your appointment so that arrangements can be made and your appointment is not delayed in any way. If you decide when you arrive for your appointment that you would like a chaperone, we will endeavour to provide one. However, because we are a small surgery, occasionally it may be necessary to reschedule your appointment if a member of the nursing team is not available. Your doctor or nurse may also require a chaperone to be present for certain consultations.
