Hep A&B Vaccine Shortage Posted on 11 Aug 2017

Global Shortage - Hepatitis A & B Vaccines

TRAVELLING ABROAD

There is a global shortage of Hepatitis A & B vaccinations; the Department of Health and Public Health England are working very closely with manufacturers of these vaccines to understand their supply situations.

Patients are advised that these vaccines will not be available in the practice for the immediate future and are advised to check travel clinics for availability. Vaccines provided by a private clinic will carry a charge.

You can still book travel appointments in the practice for all other vaccines and also receive travel advice for all other travel related diseases i.e. Malaria, Dengue Fever and Zika Virus.

More information is available on the Public Health England website.

The current situation is unlikely to change for the next 2-6 months so please look out for updates.
